How to Play the Piano (Without Actually Knowing How to Play the Piano)

Do you want to be able to impress your friends and family with some piano skills without having to go through years and years of practice and endless lessons?

Luckily for you, I can teach you how to do just that. And you can learn it in 15 minutes or less!

First of all, you are going to stay on the black keys and only the black keys. You will not be using the white keys.

Now, you need to pick a black note, any note at all...have it? Place the thumb of your left hand there. Find where that note repeats (see the picture below) and put your left hand's pinkie on that.

For example, if you picked the note right (direction) red note, than you would put your pinkie on the left red note.

Now what you'll do is keep your hand in that shape and just move it around to sets of notes. Your hand will always be in that position so you will always be playing two notes that are the same distance from each other, you just pick a different note and find where it repeats again. (Like I showed you how to do up there)

It gets even simpler from here on out. You just have to do the same thing with your right hand (but put your pinkie where I told you to put your thumb and your thumb where I told you to put your pinkie) Go ahead, practice that for a little bit.

Now that you've mastered that, here comes the tricky part. Take the middle three fingers of your left hand, and while you are playing a bunch of chords with the thumb and pinkie (like I showed above) just play any notes in any order with those three fingers.

Practice that, and there you go. You can impress your family with your awesome piano skills. Have any other music tips or tricks in mind? Feel free to share it in forums or send it to us.

Happy Learning!
